Venue: TQW Studios

Playing in the Extremes (floorwork - dance technique)
Playing in the Extremes
is an energetic floor work developed by Bruno Caverna. Its overall concern is to research and explore the inherent polarity present in every life situation as the fundamental and inspirational element of self-expression. It starts with a very intensive training, integrating a vast array of techniques such as: gliding and floating along the floor, breath\'s control aligned with a variety of movement qualities, application of twisting and spiral principles as well as techniques of headlong in a fluidly dynamic. Along its development participants are constantly instigated to let go of the thinking mind in order to connect into subtler mental states, facilitating, eventually, an expression that comes genuinely from the source: the soul.

Bruno Caverna has a vast background of capoeira, contemporary dance, acrobatics, contact-improvisation and qi gong. Caverna has been researching extensively, over the last 15 years, ways of combining and integrating principles/elements derived from those art-forms into an unique style. He has been invited to share his particular dance approach among the major schools, festivals and dance companies in Europe such as: ImPulsTanz, Ultima Vez/Wim Vandekeybus, Ecole Nationale Superieure des Arts du Cirque - France, etc.
