Miku Sophie Kühmel was born in Gotha in 1992. She studied literature and media studies - briefly in New York and longer in Berlin, where she now lives and works. She is a freelance writer and produces various podcast formats.
After publications in anthologies and magazines, her debut novel KINTSUGI was published in 2019, which received two debut awards and was shortlisted for the German Book Prize. She has received fellowships from the Akademie der Künste, among others. Her second novel TRISKELE was published in August 2022.

Project info

In addition to deepening her networking with authors of the City of Vienna, Miku Sophie Kühmel will work at the MQ on her third novel (working title: Nine Summers), which is about the artist Hannah Höch and her longtime partner, the writer Til Brugmann.
