Lola Randl was born in Munich in 1980. She writes books and makes films. Fictional, documentary, personal and those with a keen eye for the social and the tragicomic sides of existence. Her surroundings are an inseparable part of her work. Thus, the two seasons of her series LANDSCHWÄRMER are set in the village in Brandenburg where she has lived for more than 10 years - where the private is questioned anyway, or at least under observation. She made her feature film debut in 2008 with DIE BESUCHERIN at the Berlinale. A break: the feature film DIE ERFINDUNG DER LIEBE (2013). Randl integrated the death of the leading actress Maria Kwiatkowsky during filming into the screenplay, again mixing real and fiction. Her latest film, the "autofictional" documentary VON BIENEN UND BLUMEN about the urbanite's search for meaning in the countryside, was released in May 2019.

In April 2019, Lola Randl's first novel DER GROSSE GARTEN was published by Matthes und Seitz.

Project info
