November 2024 - December 2024Giulia Magno is an Italian filmmaker, art historian, and curator based in Rome. Her moving image works have been exhibited internationally, including at ICA Miami, the Serpentine Galleries, the National Galleries of Scotland, and the AKG Art Museum in Buffalo, New York. As a curator, she has collaborated with institutions such as the MAXXI Museum in Rome, ICA London, and the National Museum of Cinema in Turin, curating exhibitions that explore the intersection of film and art.
Drawing inspiration from cinema, architecture, literature, painting, and performance art, Giulia Magno's films blend diverse artistic disciplines to create poetic visual narratives. Her work often interweaves references to the histories of film, art, and popular culture, exploring the role that images play in the construction of personal and collective identity. During her residency at MQ, Giulia will conduct research for her next film project.
