Projectinfo

I would like to start developing a new animation film project in Vienna. It is planned to be a short 2-4 minutes film, with no production studio involved. The pipeline would be completely free in its structure and would only be fitted to my own needs. This way I would have more space and time for experimenting woth techniques and the animation itself. My plan is to mainly work on the visual part in Vienna, and if possible finalize the whole concept and idea, and have it ready for production.I'd love to work more with music, as I never really tried that before.

Documentation

I had the most wonderful time at Q21 in May 2016. I went there not exactly knowing what I would be working on. I only knew it would be a quick animation projekt, a collaborative piece with another animator at the residency, Peter Millard. I wanted to make something quick, and try a new approach on animation. I have been involved in a very structured tight production for quite long before I went to Vienna. The time I got there was the perfect contrast, with no rushing deadlines or pressure. Peter and me came up with an animation experiment, and had basically a month to just play around, and come up with various ideas. We didn't get any restrictions or guidlines. We had total freedom in what we could do, which is a rare and very precious situation. I never collaborated with anyone this way, and it was a really inspiring and fun time for both of us. The vibe of Vienna, and our time there really comes across in our little one minute animation, that became the end result of our stay. Peter and me didn't really know each other before Vienna, and I am very greatful that we got the opportunity to work together like this through the residency. Morfing our styles together was something I didn't expect to go this well and easy. We also got one month at Asifakeil, to showcase our film 'Don't Know Where Going' along with a little exhibition of the frames from the movie.
