Hidden above the courtyards of Vienna's MuseumsQuartier is an extraordinary 18th-century building. This exclusive tour opens up the baroque roof truss, revealing historical craftsmanship and engineering.

The roof truss, built according to plans by Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach, is one of the most important examples of Baroque carpentry and architecture. Its precise wooden construction and structural sophistication still form the structural backbone of the area today and illustrate the high level of technical knowledge and craftsmanship of the time it was built.

During the tour, you will gain a rare insight into the architectural foundations of today's art and culture quarter and discover the MuseumsQuartier from an unusual perspective.

Discover the following during the tour:

  • the Baroque roof truss of the MuseumsQuartier Wien as a hidden 18th-century structure
  • the history of the former imperial stables and their architectural significance
  • Baroque carpentry and engineering based on historical timber construction
  • the static principles and structural features of the roof truss
