On June 25, the musician “König Boris“ will read from his book “FC St. Pauli – Eine Liebeserklärung“ (FC St. Pauli: A Declaration of Love) on the MQ Summer Stage; the book is set to be published by Ullstein on November 27. He takes readers on an emotional journey through his very personal history with St. Pauli.

“King Boris,“ one-third of the hip-hop group “Fettes Brot“, has maintained a close relationship with his favorite soccer club for more than 35 years.

He recounts everything from his first visits to the stadium as a teenager to legendary anecdotes—such as the spontaneous idea to write a song for legendary coach Ewald Lienen—and explains, with plenty of humor and passion, what makes this club so unique. Whether it’s bizarre encounters with Dortmund hooligans, the significance of his ice cream flag, or his unwavering passion for the neighborhood club—this book is more than a tribute to a soccer club. It is a collection of memories that shows how FC St. Pauli shapes not only games but also people.

Through authentic stories and a touch of humor, this book celebrates the special bond between music, soccer, and friendship.

“King Boris“ whose real name is Boris Lauterbach, was born in Hamburg in 1974 and is a German musician. He also performs under the stage name “Der König tanzt.“ He became famous as a member of the band “Fettes Brot“. By 2019, they had released nine studio albums and were among the best-known German-language hip-hop acts. In 2024, “König Boris“ released the solo album “Disneyland After Dark.“ He has been a fan of FC St. Pauli for over 35 years.
