Youth protests are rocking many parts of the world; for many young people, life is unaffordable, their prospects for the future look bleak, and anger and frustration are spreading. As a result, the intergenerational contract is increasingly being called into question.

2026 must be the year of the constructive generational turn (Constructive Generational Turn). This marks the dawn of a new era in which young people will be given significantly more agency. At the same time, this new era depends on young and older generations finding new ways to work together in a spirit of trust. Only then can there be a positive future for all of us!

A bold vision is needed to empower Gen Z (agency) and foster honest and ambitious intergenerational collaboration. The holistic vision of regeneration means not forcing the future against nature, but shaping it wisely and imaginatively with a threefold intelligence—drawing on the wisdom of nature, human creativity and innovative power, and working in tandem with artificial intelligence.

The All-Generations Lab: Imagine Regenerative Futures, established on December 1, 2025, has now—following several workshops and with the support of generative AI systems—presented a “Manifesto of All Generations for the Age of Regeneration,” which calls for cross-generational collaboration. It will be presented on November 19, 2026, as part of the All-Generations Ideas Summit: ReGeneration. Like the All-Generations Lab’s previous events, this “summit of ideas” is a collaboration

  • the ReGenerativa Future Platform,
  • the MuseumsQuartier Wien, and
  • Austrian Hail Insurance.

It is being held in partnership with the Research Cluster | Sustainability in the Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and FUTURAMA°LAB: The Art of Ecological Transformations.

At the All-Generations Ideas Summit: ReGeneration, ideas for shaping a regenerative future from the perspectives of various sectors and generations will be discussed in light of the manifesto, and concrete approaches for implementing the manifesto’s key demands will be explored.
