MQ Forecourt

As part of the ImPulsTanz Festival, Public Moves offers free outdoor dance and movement classes every day on the MQ forecourt (main courtyard) of the MuseumsQuartier. These classes, which are also suitable for beginners, are led by various international instructors who teach styles ranging from hip-hop to contemporary jazz.

Public Moves invites participants to discover Yang Sheng Gong as a practice that strengthens the body, breath and inner balance. The exercises soften the body, promote functional flexibility and overall health, strengthen the immune system, connective tissue, tendons and joints, and support the flow of qi, blood and subtle fluids. Through breathing exercises such as Tu Gu Na Xin, the resilience of the lungs is developed. Standing meditation postures help cultivate inner energy and regulate the mind and awareness by bringing movement and stillness together. Yang Sheng Gong reduces stress, tension and anxiety, celebrates the breath, opens the bronchial pathways, releases stagnation, helps eliminate toxins, promotes balance and coordination, oxygenates the muscles, supports healthy organ function and regulates the nervous system.
