As part of the ImPulsTanz Festival, Public Moves offers free outdoor dance and movement classes every day on the MQ forecourt (main courtyard) of the MuseumsQuartier. These classes, which are also suitable for beginners, are led by various international instructors who teach styles ranging from hip-hop to contemporary jazz.

Public Moves invites participants to take on a special dance challenge together: after briefly getting to know one another and exchanging a few simple instructions, we dance for the entire duration of the “Goldberg Variations“ – a 51-minute piece by Johann Sebastian Bach – without interruption. Everyone dances for themselves, while many others around us do the same.

The aim is to challenge ourselves with the unknown and not give up throughout the full duration. The music guides us through rhythm, offering images and inspiration.
