With Akemi’s approach, Public Moves invites participants to explore “Now-ing”: it leads to the clear, tangible role the body plays in this very now – a moment that often serves as a bridge between automatism, meaning automatic, unconscious behaviour, and control. Movement and dance instructions focus on the pleasure of play. This gives rise to spontaneous reactions and actions that emerge from immediate experience, rather than from predetermined plans.
