MQ Summer Stage

The Poolbar Festival is coming to Vienna for one night as part of the MQ Summer Stage!

For 33 years, the Poolbar Festival has offered a summer lineup featuring “culture ranging from niche to pop“ in the uniquely designed setting of the Old Indoor Swimming Pool and Reichenfeld Park in Feldkirch. The design is developed anew each year at the Poolbar Generator—the festival design lab in Hohenems—by international students working alongside experts and the Poolbar team, and is brought to life by summer. The 40,000 guests expected from July 8 to August 16 come to enjoy this holistic concept of design, culture, and joie de vivre—not least because of headliners such as Apparat - Babyshambles - Cari Cari - ClockClock - Donots - GReeeN - HVOB - Jake Bugg - José González - Joss Stone - Kevin Morby - Kitty, Daisy & Lewis - Moop Mama - Oliver Tree - White Lies - Xavier Rudd.

In keeping with a cherished tradition that goes back decades, the Poolbar Festival is making a one-day stop in Vienna before summer to give fans a sneak peek.

The popular Poolquiz format (hosted by The Gap & Biorama) offers the chance to win great prizes—including, of course, tickets to the Poolbar Festival in Feldkirch. The quiz will be hosted by Bernhard Frena (editor-in-chief of The Gap) and Thomas Weber (publisher of Biorama).

A small exhibition offers a glimpse into the Poolbar Generator 2026—and stylish T-shirts and bags featuring the Poolbar design will be unveiled to the public for the first time—and sold.

In case of bad weather, the event will take place in Room D.

KARL

KARL is a Viennese artist who blends modern Austropop with indie guitar sounds. Born in Mozambique and raised in Vienna’s Margareten district, he writes songs about nights of heavy drinking, broken promises, and the chaos between two people. His music thrives on Viennese wit and moments that hover somewhere between melancholy and euphoria. With a voice steeped in Viennese color, KARL carries on the great tradition of Austropop—while simultaneously bringing a new generation of Viennese stories to the stage. The name stands for a clear attitude: KARL – Don’t Be Afraid of the Rough Life.

LUKAS OSCAR

Lukas Oscar is not only an up-and-coming singer-songwriter and producer, but also arguably one of the country’s most promising musical talents. The artist, who has Filipino roots, captivates listeners with his powerful, melancholic voice, which draws them in from the very first note. And he seems to have been born for music.

Despite all the success he has achieved at such a young age, Lukas Oscar’s music remains deeply honest, emotional, and introspective, inviting listeners to join him on an intimate journey of self-discovery. With “The Fun Never Ends!“, the Austrian artist has certainly secured a spot on the list of “most exciting new voices in music“!
