On 27 August, Paulus Hochgatterer will be reading from his new novel, "Mio und die Unsterblichkeit". Marlen Mairhofer will also be presenting her work, "Alice", during the evening. The event will be hosted by Klaus Kastberger.

Paulus Hochgatterer, "Mio und die Unsterblichkeit“ (book launch)
Ingemar is sixteen and loves to think. About words, about justice, about people. About how decisions are made, and about why things have turned out the way they have. When one day Mio, a young black cat, joins Ingemar’s family, everything suddenly seems to go haywire. Mio doesn’t eat when she’s supposed to, has a dark spot in her eye, climbs onto the roof and chases birds. Ingemar’s parents are worried, and he begins to suspect that there might be some truth in the saying about a cat having nine lives after all…

Marlen Mairhofer “Alice” (book launch)
The girl is a wondrous creature. She lives in a world closed off to everyone else, populated by strange and monstrous things. Of horse magazines, best friends and gaps in her teeth, of animals with and without fur, shrinking clothes and holes everywhere. Those who have outgrown this world look back on it later as if it had been a dream full of terrors and mysterious apparitions. Yet it is harsh reality, not a wonderland.
