MQ Bar by Peter Sandbichler
An artistic reinterpretation of a piece of MQ history
Peter Sandbichler’s legendary MQ Bar is making a comeback for the Hof Kunst Fest. The installation, which has been reimagined especially for the evening, draws on the MuseumsQuartier’s opening celebrations in 1999.
The Austrian sculptor Peter Sandbichler originally created his iconic MQ Bar for the MuseumsQuartier’s opening ceremony in 1999. A new version of this work, which bridges the past and the present, is being created for the Hof Kunst Fest. As an artistic meeting place in the main courtyard, the bar invites visitors to linger and serves as a reminder of a special moment in the history of the MuseumsQuartier.
