Full Program for 2026

mumok is currently presenting two special exhibitions that span all levels of the museum: “Terminal Piece,” a group exhibition that introduces a new approach to exhibitions and collections at mumok, and “Figure of the Child,” the first solo museum exhibition by artist Tolia Astakhishvili.  
Short guided tours, a musical performance on the exterior of mumok, and an open studio transform the museum into an interactive space for visitors of all ages.

6:00 – 6:30 p.m.: Sound of Wall – CID RIM live on the facade
Location: Level -1 (below the foyer)
To kick off the Long Night of Museums, Viennese electronic musician CID RIM will bring the museum’s striking lava basalt facade to life with his live percussion, transforming the iconic building itself into an instrument. Clemens Bacher, aka CID RIM, has made a name for himself internationally with his blend of jazz, electronic, and club music.

6:00 PM – 11:00 PM: Disco Drawing with Live Visuals
Location: mumok kino (White Room) / Level –4
Our cinema transforms into a picturesque dance floor, and the walls become a moving sculpture. Grab a pair of headphones, follow the beats and sounds, and let your pen whirl freely across the canvas. In the process, you yourself become an interactive work of art: We capture all the voices in the room and transform them into a live visualization that we immediately project onto the walls!

6:00 PM – 11:00 PM: Light Traces
Location: mumok kino (black room) / Level –4
At our various interactive stations, you’ll try your hand at collaborative painting. With music in your ears and using only nonverbal communication, you’ll create a collaborative artwork in pairs or groups on our light easels. Or grab one of our fluorescent light tablets and let your imagination run wild in our cozy theater seats.

6:00 PM – 11:00 PM: Hands-on station in the exhibition “Figure of the Child” by Tolia Astakhishvili
Location: Tolia Astakhishvili, “Figure of the Child” / Level –2
Painting, drawing, stamping, browsing, building, playing: For the “Figure of the Child” exhibition, visitors of all ages are invited to actively help shape the exhibition. Various hands-on stations featuring creative paints, different types of paper, stamps, building blocks, fabrics, and play materials provide space for creativity, imagination, movement, and shared experiences. 
For families with children ages 3 and up, teens, and adults.

6:00 PM – 10:15 PM: Puzzle Rally: Across the Museum
Info Point: mumok Cinema (white room) / Level –4 / then explore the museum
on your own With our puzzle rally, we’ll send you on an exciting treasure hunt and your own personal journey of art appreciation across the museum and our current exhibitions. Solve our tricky puzzles—if you provide the correct solution word at the end, you’ll even win a prize (while supplies last)!
For everyone ages
6 and up. Our puzzle rally is offered in German and English.

6:45–7:15 p.m.: Introductory tour of “Terminal Piece”

Tickets are available in advance and on the day of the event at the MQ Point and the MQ Freiraum. A single ticket grants access to all participating museums and cultural institutions during the ORF Long Night of Museums.
