The 8th edition of MQ FEB, themed “To the Mother,” once again invites participants to engage in critical thinking, take a stand, and, above all, enjoy meaningful reading. In their typically entertaining joint presentation, Lilian and Teresa showcase new releases as well as their personal favorite books. Exciting passages are read aloud, authors are introduced, and ideas are discussed together with the audience and the ever-growing MQ FEB fan community. The book club becomes a space for dialogue: for questions, for exchange, for different perspectives—and for taking a moment to reflect.

This time, the spotlight is on Tamara Štajner’s highly acclaimed novel *Luft nach unten* /Zsolnay. The author will be in attendance (along with this book, among others).
*Luft nach unten* is a modern family saga shaped by very different women. An impressive, radical novel about the mother-daughter relationship. With her successful novel *Luft nach unten*, Tamara Štajner has captivated readers and literary critics alike. The book reached the top of Austrian bestseller and “best of” lists—for example, it was named “Book of the Month” in September by Ö1—and is thus considered one of the most acclaimed new releases of the year.

Other books and authors:

Susanne Gregor / “Half a Life” / Zsolnay
Sarah Trentzsch / “Why We Daughters Need Our Mothers” / Gutkind
Alison Bechdel / “Who’s the Mother Here?” / Kiepenheuer & Witsch
