Young musical theatre and dance companies in the spotlight: for a whole week, the stages at NEST and DSCHUNGEL WIEN will be taken over by young musical theatre and dance companies from all over Austria.

From 22 to 26 June, NEST and DSCHUNGEL WIEN are hosting the first “WILD & SCHÖN FESTIVAL“. The festival showcases exceptional dance and music theatre productions by young people aged between 14 and 24 from across Austria. It is a space where young theatre practitioners can present their themes, working methods and artistic approaches, and engage in dialogue with one another. AT THE SOURCE

There was a time when people lived peacefully in harmony with nature. But over the years, they became greedy and tried to control things that were beyond their power.

Fire, water, wind and earth grew angry – and made their voices heard through natural disasters to show humanity who is in charge here.

The piece tells this fictional story through an abstract dance performance: taking the form of a parable about the origins of natural disasters and human hubris, it creates a world of its own in which the beauty of nature, the belief in a right to power, and the lust for control stand in opposition to one another.
