November 2022 - November 2022Aleksandra Kononchenko is an Belarussian photographer and visual artist.
She studied Architecture in Belarusian State Technical University and Photography in Warsaw Academy of photography. Her interest in video art is based on a mixture of photography & video.
As a visual artist she likes to work with performers and dancers, inventing projections for their performances.
As a photographer, she is interested in portraits, architecture, reportage and she loves to make experiments with the light.
She had many collaborations with journalists and as a photographer she did a lot of social reportages, about autism, the death penalty, domestic violence, labor slavery in Belarus etc.
Also she often creates her photographs in collaboration with architects and actors. Her work has been presented internationally.

1. My friends and I are making a political performance about what had happened in Belarussian prisons after the elections. I think it’s important to explain to people around what has happened and not forget it. Here you can have a look at a diary of our shows https://marinadashuk.art/body. As I’m making documentation for this project I have a lot of videos to sort and finish. I would like to put everything in order, finish teasers and photos for each performance.
2. I’m moving from one place to another all the time, sometimes with different kinds of jobs. I would like to come back to simplicity and slowness (because I have a feeling that I’m starting to lose it) and make simple portraits for people who are around and for locals. So I would like to have a kind of “Open studio” where people can visit me anytime and get a portrait.
