Jänner 2021 - Februar 2021Sofia Strunden is a graphic designer and animator studying Visual Communication at the Folkwang University of Arts. As a member of atelierfriendzone, she lives and works between Cologne, Düsseldorf and Essen. The human body and its somatosensory perception of the world are recurring themes of Sofia's experimental graphic design work that oscillates between analogue painting and digital 3D modelling/printing techniques.
Within the framework of the exhibition “Space of Urgency”, Bogomir Doringer and Q21 invited Sofia Strunden to develop together with Paula Strunden an experimental mixed-reality installation that questions the way we experience our bodies in space and time. Together, Sofia and Paula will explore different embodied VR modelling tools, such as Gravity Sketch, Medium and Arkio to explore new ways of creating together virtually while being physically apart.
