Alina Șerban is an art historian, living between Ploiești and Bucharest, Romania. Her researches focus on post-war Eastern European art and architecture, being interested in the local reading of artistic narratives and the exhibition practices of 1970s–1980s from a transnational and comparative perspective. She takes part in various international conferences such as: Transit Point Europa, Yale Architecture University (2016); Contested Spheres: Actually Existing Artworlds under Socialism, Kassák Museum Budapest (2016); Pedagogies of Space, INDEX, Stockholm (2016); Visualizing the Nation. Post-Socialist ImagiNations, Eötvös Loránd University – Faculty of Humanities, Budapest (2015). In 2009 Șerban curated The Seductiveness of the Interval (artists Ștefan Constantinescu, Andreea Faciu, Ciprian Mureșan) at the Romanian Pavilion, 53rd International Art Exhibition, La Biennale di Venezia, itinerated at the Renaissance Society, University of Chicago in 2010. She recently curated the two-side exhibition The Factory of Facts and Other (Unspoken) Stories at Salonul de proiecte Bucharest and DOMINO art space, Paintbrush Factory, Cluj (2016). As editor, she coordinates the publishing platform P+4 Publications, dedicated to Romanian contemporary art and architecture, preparing to release in 2017 the publications The Factory of Facts and Other (Unspoken) Stories and Dan Perjovschi. The Book of Notebooks.
