As part of the ImPulsTanz Festival, Public Moves offers free outdoor dance and movement classes every day on the MQ forecourt (main courtyard) of the MuseumsQuartier. These classes, which are also suitable for beginners, are led by various international instructors who teach styles ranging from hip-hop to contemporary jazz.

With “Still Moving”, Public Moves invites participants to slow down and explore the dimensions of physical and sensory perception, starting from stillness – a state of relative motionlessness. We begin with a body scan to bring attention to what is present. This is followed by a gentle warm-up that connects mobilisation, weight and perception with mental images.

The format takes its time and invites participants to observe sensory perceptions, breath, movement and imagination as they are in the present moment. Depending on impulse and the energy of the day, we move into group improvisations with and without music, exploring and developing connections between inner and outer movement.
