What happens when art is not merely viewed, but transformed into words?
In the inclusive writing workshops organised by the Ohrenschmaus association in collaboration with the Kunsthalle Wien, people with and without learning difficulties visited current exhibitions and explored the artworks through writing. The result was a collection of poetic, surprising, humorous and personal texts about memories, feelings and the many stories that art can evoke within us.
At the reading on the MQ Summer Stage in the main courtyard of the MuseumsQuartier, participants in the writing workshops will present a selection of the texts they have produced. In between, the Kunsthalle Wien and the Ohrenschmaus association will offer insights into their joint collaboration, which promotes cultural participation and opens up new ways of engaging with art and literature.
An event for anyone who wants to listen to art, experience literature and discover new perspectives.

What happens when people look at art and write about it?
People with and without learning disabilities visited exhibitions together at the Kunsthalle Wien. Afterwards, they wrote pieces in the writing workshops. This resulted in many fascinating pieces: about memories, sounds, feelings and their own thoughts. At the reading, we will read out some of these pieces.
In addition, the Kunsthalle Wien and the Ohrenschmaus association talk about their collaboration. Together, they are committed to increasing the participation of people with disabilities in art and culture.
We warmly invite everyone.
