Dimitré Dinev, an author with close ties to the history of the O-TÖNE literary festival, is returning to the MQ: in 2004, he gave the first reading here at the then newly founded festival. Twenty-two years later, he will be performing at the Hof Kunst Fest alongside Alexander and Konstantin Wladigeroff and drummer Maria Petrova.
Dimitre Dinev made his literary breakthrough in late 2003 with his brilliant debut novel, *Engelszungen*. His long-awaited second novel, *Zeit der Mutigen*, was published in September of last year, and there will be a reading from it at the Hof Kunst Fest.
Spanning more than 1,000 pages, the author explores the history of Europe and delves into the lives of four generations of a family living between Austria and Bulgaria. Dimitré Dinev spent 13 years writing his magnum opus, and more than once during that time he doubted whether he would be able to see his project through to completion. Ultimately, Dinev was awarded the Austrian Book Prize for the novel.
