In this online book presentation Ludmila Schindler presents her new book.

Drawing on her daily experience in schools, she describes how smartphones, tablets, social media, and digital entertainment make things difficult for children:

  • to perceive their own feelings and needs,
  • building up social skills,
  • to concentrate,
  • to deal with frustrations,
  • and to cope with everyday school life.

Excessive media consumption can lead to a kind of "digital alienation." Yet the book is not merely a critique of digital media. The author aims to show parents and educators ways to empower children once again to:

  • make real experiences
  • to develop their natural abilities,
  • to maintain social contacts,
  • to ultimately develop a more balanced relationship with the digital world.

A collaboration between the WIENXTRA facilities Kinderinfo and IFP. This presentation will be held in German.
