Children are curious and open, but sometimes also dismissive. Especially in interactions between children with and without disabilities, uncertainties and rejecting attitudes arise and pose major challenges for adults. How can we support children in treating one another with respect and appreciation? What role do language, attitudes, and the way we as adults act as role models play?

After a well-founded introduction to the topics of inclusion and neurodiversity, the focus shifts to communication between children: “Why can’t he walk?”, “Why does she talk so strangely?”, or even “I don’t want to play with him/her” serve as starting points for conversations and learning processes aimed at understanding diversity as an enrichment.

Speaker: Michaela Saurugger, inclusive educator
