On 22 July 2026, animation artist and MQ Artist-in-Residence Anna Samo takes us on a personal journey through her creative practice at Vienna's MuseumsQuartier.

The evening features four of her short films created over the past eight years. In the artist talk following the screening, Anna will share insights into her creative process and explain why working with her hands through analogue animation techniques is an essential part of her artistic practice.

In her films, Anna Samo explores the many facets of the human condition and reflects on the role and responsibility of artists in a world shaped by crises. For her film “The Wild-Tempered Clavier“, she received the MQ Artist-in-Residence Award at the Tricky Women Tricky Realities Festivall in 2025. The film was also shortlisted for the Academy Awards that same year. Anna Samo lives and works at Vienna's MuseumsQuartier as a MQ Artist-in-Residence until the end of July.
