on the edge – Festival for Experimental Circus Arts

In Swiss German, ‘Gugus!’ means both ‘Hello’ and ‘Nonsense’ – and that’s exactly what it’s all about:

Moments without a purpose, which are simply fun. Inspired by the Dada movement, Gugus! invites you to leave behind the pressure to perform, the compulsion to grow and the drive for self-improvement, and to rediscover the joy of the absurd. On stage, two circus performers meet and whisk the audience away into a world full of acrobatics, dance, onomatopoeia, music, noise and nonsense. They soar through the air, transform into bizarre characters and play with gravity, whilst everyday life takes a break.
