The Vamperl

Ms. Lizzi really didn’t expect this: While cleaning, she finds a little vampire in a spiderweb. But instead of blood, this little Vamperl would rather suck the wickedness out of people. And so begin the adventures of Ms. Lizzi and Vamperl. Wherever someone is grumpy or mean, Vamperl flutters over and bites until all the malice has been sucked out of their gallbladder.

“Das Vamperl” by Renate Welsh is a classic of Austrian children's literature.
