On November 12 at 6:30 p.m., winter kicks off at the MQ with live performances, a DJ set, curling, and punch. Following last year’s hiatus due to landscaping work, the MQ’s main courtyard—nestled among the new green spaces—will once again become a winter gathering spot featuring special lighting, a curated music program, punch, and culinary delights.
Opening on November 12
Winter at the MQ kicks off on November 12 at 6:30 p.m. with two live performances and a closing DJ set. The young singer-songwriter sanna frankie will kick things off. She’ll open the evening with her newly released album “cerberus”—described by FM4 as a “pop masterpiece.”
Next up is the Viennese band Culk, which returned in September 2026 with a new album. It was produced in collaboration with Sophie Lindinger of My Ugly Clementine. Following their recent tour through Germany and Austria, the band is now bringing their sound to the MQ Main Courtyard. The evening will wrap up with a DJ set.
MQ Tunes: Open-Air Concerts Even in Winter
Starting November 18, the MQ will bring young Austrian bands to its open-air stage every Wednesday as part of MQ Tunes—and admission is free. The lineup includes Belle Fin (Nov. 18), Mwita Mataro (Nov. 25), Soulparlez (Dec. 2), Skofi (Dec. 9), and RUHMER (Dec. 16).
A Diverse Program
Every Tuesday and Thursday, Freie Kiosk Kultur (FKK) curates the Winter DJ Sessions at its iconic red K67 kiosk. The Winter Race also returns starting November 14, and the popular curling rink is open again in the MQ main courtyard. Food and drinks are provided by the MQ’s in-house dining options—MQdaily, MQ Kantine, Café Leopold, Dschungel Café, and MQ Amore—ranging from homemade cake and ginger chai to regional organic mulled wine and roasted almonds.
