A family celebration at the MuseumsQuartier
On Saturday, May 30, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., the MQ is hosting its big, legendary family festival—the KinderKulturParcours—with free admission.
The entire MuseumsQuartier and its institutions can be explored in a playful way by visitors of all ages. To mark the 25th anniversary of the MQ, new activities are being offered this year: The hands-on station “From Party Hats to Festive Tiaras!” invites visitors to get creative, and during the puzzle rally “A Carriage Ride Through the MQ,” visitors can learn all about the exciting history of the MuseumsQuartier.
At the same time, visitors can once again look forward to crowd favorites such as the “Birds of Neubau” screen-printing workshop, the miniature sailboat workshop, and the MQ Amore mini-golf tournament.
MQ Institutions with a Diverse Program
The Az W – Architekturzentrum Wien is using thermal imaging cameras to search for the coldest spot in the MQ; at the Leopold Museum, visitors can explore the exhibition “Premiere! The Collection of the Austrian National Bank”; and in collaboration with mumok and the MQ, the façade will be set to music. The Kunsthalle Wien invites visitors to create sparkling designs in the studio; Halle E&G offers a behind-the-scenes look at the Vienna Festival; and at the Tanzquartier Wien, everyone dances together. At the ZOOM Children’s Museum, an imaginative marble run is being created, while at DSCHUNGEL WIEN, T-shirts can be custom-printed.
