25 Years of MQ with Enzi on Tour
A journey to Austria's top attractions
To celebrate MQ’s 25th anniversary, a bright pink Enzi is embarking on a journey across Austria.
In partnership with Austrian Leading Sights, the MQ is sending an “Enzi” to numerous major cultural and tourist destinations throughout the anniversary year. The hosts will use the Enzi in a variety of ways and then decorate it with a colorful sticker. The Enzi thus becomes a nostalgic travel suitcase.
The trip is accompanied by a digital travel journal that documents each stop along the way. Exciting insights into the host institutions are shared via MQ’s social media channels and on the MQ website.
Through the “Enzi on Tour” project, Enzi himself becomes an ambassador, highlighting the significant role the MuseumsQuartier plays in Austrian cultural tourism. At the same time, the tour showcases the connections between the various attractions as key points of interest for both domestic and international visitors.
“Over five million people visit the MuseumsQuartier every year. Over the past 25 years, it has evolved into a cosmopolitan, vibrant hub for both Viennese residents and international visitors, and is now one of the city’s most important cultural and tourist destinations,” said MQ Director Bettina Leidl
“We are very excited about the joint project ‘Enzi on Tour’ to mark the 25th anniversary of the MuseumsQuartier Wien,” emphasizes association president Klaus Panholzer. “The journey of this iconic piece of street furniture across Austria—and thus through many of the country’s most significant landmarks—is a powerful symbol of unity within the Austrian tourism landscape. Perhaps Enzi’s journey will also inspire some people to embark on their own journey of discovery through Austria’s most beautiful sights.”
