Oksana Chornobrova is a Kyiv-based independent curator and researcher. She holds a BA in Cultural Studies from the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. Her curatorial practice focuses on experimental exhibition-making, new formats of artistic production, and the relationship between contemporary art and popular culture. Her research is grounded in the history and theory of the avant-garde, with broader interests in socially engaged practices, institutional critique, and the role of contemporary art within wider social and political contexts.

Until recently, she worked as an Assistant Curator at PinchukArtCentre, where she assisted with major exhibitions, curated her own projects, and conducted research for the institution’s Research Platform. She currently works independently on exhibitions, public programmes and writing.

The fellowship at Kunsthalle Wien will include:

Supporting the Kunsthalle Wien team in the preparation and organisation of the autumn exhibitions. The fellowship will provide insight into the institution’s curatorial, exhibition-making and organisational processes during an intensive period of exhibition production.
