Hilke Rönnfeldt is a screenwriter and film director based in Copenhagen. She is a Berlinale Talents, Torino Script Lab, LIM – Less Is more, Oxbelly Episodic Lab and European Short Pitch alumna.
Her film „A STUDY OF EMPATHY“ won the Golden Leopard at Locarno Film Festival 2023 and was a candidate for the European Film Awards 2024. She is also one of 10 emerging European film directors selected for European Film Promotion Future Frames Program.
Her projects revolve around life in rural communities, worlds of work, intimacy, and the sea. She has a strong faith in the poetic capabilities of the image.Hilke Rönnfeldt has designed this year's Vienna Shorts festival trailer and one of her films will also be screened in the VIS Open Air cinema in the MQ main courtyard.

Project info

During her residency at MQ, Hilke Rönnfeldt is developing the screenplay for her next film project. The project circles around the human condition in times of crisis and explores the Anthropocene.Hilke Rönnfeldt would like to use her stay at the MQ to research social-ecological transformation and translate it into the relationship between human body and its (natural) environment and find a form of filmic expression for it.
