What if the human body itself could become a nesting site for an endangered species? The Danube Transformation Agency for Agency (DTAFA) proposes building a nest for the ground-nesting little ringed plover on the human body, offering it as a temporary nesting site.
Starting from questions of care, coexistence, and ecological responsibility, the project explores alternative relationships between human and non-human actors. The human body no longer appears as the center, but rather as part of a fragile ecological network in which new forms of mutual dependency are tested and negotiated.
The Danube Transformation Agency for Agency is a transdisciplinary art and design collective concerned with processes of mediation between species. From an ecofeminist perspective, their projects address socio-political questions and explore more equitable forms of coexistence. Through experimental interventions, the collective develops tools for socio-ecological innovation and collective agency. DTAFA was founded in 2021 as part of a project at the University of Applied Arts Vienna.
