Artist Talk & Residency Presentation: Lucija Rosc

As part of a residency organised by NeverAtHome, artist Lucija Rosc has been invited to Vienna to engage in artistic research and open a dialogue with Saša Mächtig's Kiosk, an iconic work of Slovenian design.
During the residency, Rosc engages in artistic research around the Kiosk while continuing her ongoing exploration of how pre-existing materials, objects and conditions can take on new meaning when placed in new contexts. Working across photography and assemblage, she elevates modest, overlooked materials into reflective studies of collective and personal history, often transforming photographic research into spatial installations.
On view will be part of her project Heirloom, which follows a gold tooth's journey from her grandmother Mica to her own mouth. Through images, archival objects and video, Rosc traces how familial keepsakes are passed down through generations. The work will be presented alongside research developed during the residency, offering insight into her investigation of memory, inheritance and the fictionalisation of the personal archive.
The evening concludes with a public conversation moderated by curator Hana Čeferin, focusing on Rosc's research-driven and playful artistic practice. Moving between previous projects and the questions emerging from her dialogue with Mächtig's legacy, the talk explores how both practices negotiate play, function and the politics of everyday aesthetics.
