The new Permanent Exhibition at the Architekturzentrum Wien: Going against the current trend for increasing economic constraints on their collections, the new Permanent Exhibition of the Az W sets standards in the production and sharing of knowledge.

The exhibition "Hollein Calling. Architectural Dialogues" explores the Hollein phenomenon from today's perspective. A dialogue with the positions of a younger generation of architects launches a reappraisal that brings Hollein's work back into the current discourse.

The awakening took place in a wide variety of disciplines, from painting and graphic art to literature, music, theater, dance, architecture, medicine, psychology, philosophy, jurisprudence and economics. With around 1,300 exhibits on three levels, the exhibition presents the splendor and richness of the artistic and intellectual achievements of this epoch on the basis of masterpieces from the Leopold Museum and magnificent permanent loans from Austrian and international collections.

We attend the performance together. Afterwards, you can fortify yourselves in the foyer and take over the stage yourself. You become heroes, monsters or night creatures, make friends and conquer new worlds. At midnight, we present our ideas to each other. Then we roll out the sleeping mats, because where can you dream as well as on stage.

The VRUM Performing Arts Collective plunges into the adventure of fighting fear! Based on the poem "Life doesn't Frighten me", the intergenerational ensemble is developing a production in which it explores the dangers, horrors and craziness of everyday life.

Gabriele Münter (1877–1962) was much more than just "the woman by Kandinsky’s side". Around 140 exhibits from public and private international collections – including oil paintings, printed graphic works, drawings, photographs and artisanal objects – afford profound insights into the artist’s multi-faceted oeuvre.

Today things are going to get sweet, yummy smelling and brightly coloured at the Az W. Concrete is being replaced by gingerbread, connections are made of sugar frosting and toothpicks — et voilà, wild gingerbread structures. What will the gingerbread houses of the future look like? Fans of embellishment can decorate with sugar, as a tried and tested method.

In Gabriele Münter's landscape paintings, we immerse ourselves in hilly seascapes or gaze down long roads. Sometimes the sun is shining, sometimes there is snow, sometimes we puzzle over the season.
