Music reading: A Sunday Evening full of words and sounds*

Robert Maruna reads, Johannes Mergarten plays piano

Sun 03.09., 19h l MQ Summer Stage, Main Courtyard l free admission

Robert Maruna is a freelance writer, copywriter and presenter. After studying environmental science in Uppsala, Sweden, he turned to his "best friends", the letters, because language is half his life. The other half is filled by outdoor adventures and another passion: talking to people. His texts bear witness to fine observations and tell of what lies between the lines.

Inspired by artists such as Chopin, Gil Scott-Heron and a strong influence of electronic music culture, Johannes Mergarten developed his unmistakable style that oscillates between classical music, jazz and driving rhythms. He combines composition with improvisation, constantly shifting between fragile freedom, warm harmonies and catchy melodies.

Together, the two have created a programme full of words and melodies: prose pieces and piano sounds alternate and create an image that unites both arts.

*reading will be held in German
