With its newly conceived presentation of the collection, the Leopold Museum is creating an opulent tableau which affords uniquely rich and complex insights into the fascination of Vienna around 1900 and the atmosphere of this vibrant time.

A double exhibition by Rene Matić (born in Peterborough, UK, 1997) and Oscar Murillo (born in La Paila, Colombia, 1986) at Kunsthalle Wien.

We all know that candles are made out of wax. But what is wax exactly? The current program at the ZOOM Studio lets you explore this versatile material: test how soft wax really is, find out when wax can grow, and learn about what wax is important for.

Although the comic opera Cublai, gran kan de’ Tartari by Giambattista Casti with music by Antonio Salieri is apparently set in Cathay, the situation it portrays is actually that of European royal courts, especially the court of the Russian tsar. The central question raised by the authors, in the true spirit of the Enlightenment in Europe, is how those in power deal with the responsibility they have for their lands.

In her new piece, Ulduz Ahmadzadeh continues her long-term research on the movement material of West Asian cultural heritage and lets the spirits carry her on the wind from the Persian Gulf to the African continent. "ZĀĀR" is an examination of the cosmology of transcontinental Zaar rituals and a search for traces of kinship in dance.

In her piece for the TQW dance group PARASOL, choreographer Ulduz Ahmadzadeh continues her long-term exploration of pre-national dance heritage from South-West Asia, delving into the cosmology of the transcontinental healing ritual Zaar (or Zaar Cult). In this session, the team invites the audience to a collective reading and discussion around these themes.

This children's opera based on the well-known classic fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm about love, friendship and inner beauty is based on the music of Engelbert Humperdinck, the famous fairy tale composer ("Hansel and Gretel" and others), who explored this material but never completed the work.
