TILLA DURIEUX: A WITNESS TO A CENTURY AND HER ROLES
The comprehensive exhibition at the Leopold Museum is the first to investigate the fascination Tilla Durieux held already for her contemporaries, and to explore the traces of this scintillating personality through portraits of all media. Featuring rarely exhibited archival material and international loans, the presentation highlights Durieux’s career, her social and artistic milieu as well as her life shaped by political upheaval.

Themed tour: FRAUENPOWER IN WIEN 1900
Female artists of Viennese Modernism such as Tina Blau-Lang, Broncia Koller-Pinell and the Flöge sisters became their own muses and "burst the bodices": with a new view of femininity, with the discovery of the Prater as the epitome of a new understanding of nature, and with the opening of salons and schools that became decisive places of artistic exchange in Vienna around 1900.

Public guided tour: HAGENBUND
The Künstlerbund Hagen was founded in 1900 as a reaction to the conservatism of the Künstlerhaus and established itself by the 1920s at the latest as "the most radical group of the present" (Robert Musil, 1922) within the Viennese artists' associations. The exhibition house Zedlitzhalle in Vienna's 1st district, first occupied in 1902, served not only as an identity-forming presentation venue for its members, but also as a hall for innovative exhibition concepts and international art presentations.

Public Guided Tour: Wien 1900
The awakening took place in a wide variety of disciplines, from painting and graphic art to literature, music, theater, dance, architecture, medicine, psychology, philosophy, jurisprudence and economics. With around 1,300 exhibits on three levels, the exhibition presents the splendor and richness of the artistic and intellectual achievements of this epoch on the basis of masterpieces from the Leopold Museum and magnificent permanent loans from Austrian and international collections.
