The STELLA is the first national award for special achievements in the field of performing arts for young audiences in Austria and was established in 2007 by ASSITEJ Austria. Since then, the outstanding children's and youth productions of the previous season have been presented every year as part of the STELLA festival. In 2022, STELLA will take place in Vienna for the fourth time in cooperation with the Burgtheater, the Dschungel Wien and the WUK.

Together with young Afghan and Iraqi men, the images of masculinity were examined. Those that are a source of friction for them, but also those that are presented to them from the outside. Being here means living in peace, but the war inside is still present. This piece is about the desire to live at peace with oneself and others. It is about trauma and dream, healing and hurt, anger and forgiveness.

Sonja, Cathi and Barbara live door to door in a high-rise building, each on her own. Sometimes they feel lonely, but they get through the day with their quirky habits and ritualized routines. They don't even know how to do it anymore, to get in touch with someone. To start a conversation with the neighbor - they wouldn't dare. But one day, strange things start happening.

"Loverʼs Disco(urse)" invites you to a party that celebrates love and lovers, lust and diversity, and above all: the freedom to love - who and how we want. The performers:insides indulge in this wonderful madness and invite the audience to be part of this wild, gentle, crazy and uncertain journey.

How can I overcome boundaries as a group or as an individual? Do I even want to? And what comes afterwards? Based on texts by Ingeborg Bachmann and with the personal thoughts, wishes and desires of the performers, "MeineAllesaufderWelt" revolves around a meter-long pile of wood that lies there like piled-up words.

"Esel" is about being stubborn, about perseverance, resilience and respect, about encouragement and protest, about trust and resistance, and also about being allowed to radically change your mind. "Esel" is a declaration of struggle, refusal and hope at the same time, our donkey is a bearer of hope instead of a bearer of burdens. The agency schallundrauch is stubborn, tells extremely private stories, dances stubborn dances, bathes in aphrodisiac donkey milk, sings renitent songs, says "No!" with conviction and celebrates all donkeys.

"Help! but: ..." is a performative chaos, a hidden object in which failure is the order of the day - or not: just live, try to support others and create something together. Again and again from scratch.

"frisch getanzt" is an initiative for the freestyle community in Vienna in cooperation with Dschungel Wien. Within three days dance languages can be tried out playfully and new perspectives can be discovered. The platform serves dancers to network, exchange and develop their own individual style.

"Bunter Haufen" is a great suggestion of all-too-human longings, fixed ideas, touching comedy and a lot of love for the music. Skillful obfuscation, thickly applied bossiness, but also the most playful trinity take place here unvarnished. And the moral of the story? A white picture does not make a painting!

Based on motifs from Wolf Erlbruch's book of the same name, "Nachts" invites you on a journey into the darkest time of the day: Sounds suddenly become symphonies, houses grow into the sky and the moon is unceremoniously taken from the sky. In the night hours, everything suddenly seems possible, even more so than during the day, especially in the reality of our lives today.

"Baja Buf" is designed for and with 10 to 15 babies, ages 10 to 24 months. Parents are present in the room and follow their children's organically evolving "choreographies" with the performers. The experience of "Bayabufing" is a first discovery of the possibilities of non-verbal communication and body awareness. Surprising and fresh, always different and revealing the already very personal character of the babies.

"Time*Sailors - sailing around and through time" ... that was the name of the show back in 1995, when the original crew boarded their time ship and sailed through time for three years. A good 27 years later, for the 30th anniversary of Tanz*Hotel, the Time*Sailors are once again going on an expedition through time and space.
