Monday Listening Club | Rare Grooves Vienna

Rare Grooves Vienna is all about the round, black gold. The collective consists of DJs and selectors Dizzy Dee, Ra-B, Skull Disco, Franco & Käpz, bringing together several decades of DJ experience across a wide variety of genres.

They dig deep and serve up everything that grooves, is danceable, and is funky—every event with Rare Grooves Vienna is a journey through time and around the world, spanning all continents and genres, with a focus on analog sounds.

Since we want to keep things exciting for ourselves and our guests, we regularly invite new faces from the wider community of music lovers to join us in our creative explorations—whether they’re radio hosts, record store owners, music journalists, musicians, or simply DJ friends with whom we’re on the same wavelength.

On August 17, Ra-B (Groovebuz / fear le funk) and Skull Disco (tonstube rec.) will host the Monday listening session and welcome globetrotter She Reptile as a guest.

Ra-B is known for his consistently exquisite 45s and surprises listeners with twists and turns that, first of all, you don’t expect—and second, you don’t hear—because he’s technically one of the best DJs in the German-speaking world. Keep your ears and hearts open for a genre-bending mix of funky, soulful curiosities.

Skull Disco focuses on groove-heavy music of all kinds and always finds ways to blend the guests’ sound with the vision of Rare Grooves Vienna. On August 17, he’s excited to finally be able to serve up his New Wave, No Wave, Now Wave, and Post-Punk gems again…and Dub.
