Impulstanz 2019 Planningtorock Powerhouse

Music can be used as a tool in the fight for gender neutrality. After the success of All Love’s Legal, Planningtorock, also known as Jam Rostron, have released their fourth – celebrated – album, Powerhouse. As a teenager, the musician found artist Tom of Finland exciting, today they create tracks like Transome, which were banned by British public radio at one point. The broadcaster considered the phrase “you make me so wet” too explicit. Transome is a track on Powerhouse, Planningtorock’s latest and most personal album. They now present a “musical show” of the same name, honouring Rostron’s music-loving mother as well as their sister as an “autistic raver” and Jam themself as a child of the working class. They are joined by Ian Kaler in the roles of choreographer and performer as well as by film-maker Imogen Heath and special guests. This will be a performance with painful “Wounds” and playful “Much To Touch” – music that sweeps you off your feet, provides encouragement and makes many things right again.
