REAL WORLD LABORATORY - Central European Design, an exhibition curated by Czesawa Frejlich (POL) and Magda Kochanowska (POL), presents outstanding designers and design agencies from the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovenia, Slovakia, Hungary, and Austria. Initially produced for the 2008 Saint Étienne Design Biennale, the show comes to Vienna starting September 29 as a cooperation between quartier21/MuseumsQuartier and the Austrian Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs (BMeiA). It will be on view in freiraum quartier21 INTERNATIONAL through November 20.

The show marks the launch of freiraum quartier21 INTERNATIONAL, a new exhibition series focusing on digital culture, fashion, and design that will be presented by quartier21/ MuseumsQuartier Wien in cooperation with the BMeiA and other national and international partners. The exhibition is also being presented in connection with Vienna Design Week, a festival taking place from October 1 to 11. The Austrian contribution to the exhibition is curated by Neigungsgruppe Design and features pieces designed by the EOOS collective (industrial design) and Dejana Kabiljo (conceptual design).
