Projectinfo

I’ve been working on a new book of prose and poems (House of Bellflower) for several months. So far I wrote approximately about fifty poems, but some of them need further work, some may completely out. In addition, I would like that a new poem book include experiences that occur as a result of interaction with differance. I think your program can offer me that, beacause Vienna is a place full of surprises. In this book of poems, which I desperately want to finish, I note, as I did before, that I'm focused on the closely related facts of being and everyday reality,  through respectively various forms of dialogue with reality. As an integral part of our reality is virtual reality now, where more people live on social networks than they participate in their own life, in which, paradoxically become lonelier and incomprehensible to themselves. So, I was thinking I could do an audio poetry book. Today, a small group of people read poetry, but poetry and writing exist for the sake of the small, ordinary, alienated man in the silence of his room. A few decades ago, BiH had several thousands sellers of poetry books. But, now, poetry is not a favorite field in the modern society. Poetry books, except a few poets, are not selling any more in the bookstores. I think this case would be similar in other countries, in Austria as well. Anyway, many poets continue writing poems. Why? I think poetry should be a deep and basic layer in the culture of modern society, not a easy or soft materials for the readers. It can be compared to the basic science in our modern lives. Poetry is not delightful but essential.
So, during these spring residency in Vienna I'd finished my new poetry book. Genre I prefer to this book could be defined as a travel poetry, and also it'll include some prose poems, inspired by Vienna, and austrian culture and literature, in general.
Since the Bosnia once was  part of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, and that today, according to many, Austria's most "western" friend of Bosnia, I would like to examine this relationship, both culturally and historically. In addition, I want to feel all live flavors and colors of Vienna, the famous street Mariahilferstrasse, I want to know and write about Alma Mahler, Romy Schneider, the history of gastarbeiter from 1964 until today, the collapse of the Austrian Booksellers (Gerold, for ex.).

I was really lucky that I stayed in Vienna during the two most beautiful months: April and May. It was wonderful to observe how people take off their coats, and how the whole city has flourished into the green, tulips and roses, as well. That was very inspiring for me, so during my stay in Vienna, I wrote 13 stories (fiction), and twenty-two poems. Some of them still need more work. Three of the stories are directly connected to this city and my impressions of it, and all of them I have already published in magazines, as well as some poems. In addition to that, I also wrote a text for the weekly newspaperI write for. This article tells about the life of immigrants in Vienna, primarily African, I have met and spent time with. All stories I wrote were inspired by real events and people I met; people that had the need to tell me their personal drama. It was my kind of way to say „You are not alone!“, by writing their life stories. Besides my time and work in a studio, at the MuseumsQuartier (which is for me, I can tell without any doubt, the most beautiful place in the whole Vienna), a lot of my spare time I spent in the museums, long walks, exploring hidden places and of course at the cafe Kafka. I have to mention that I was visited three times by school classes, that had a guided tour at the MQ, and that was really nice.
