Matthias Deumlich (1962), after working as a printer and being a drummer for several years, finished his studies at Hochschule der Künste, Berlin. In his work he explores the existential themes and aesthetics of form and versatile aspects of sound. His objects and installations combine sound, light and video. He often uses drawings, photographies, light, kinetic and paper objects in his artworks. He has had solo and participated at group exhibitions in different art institutions all around Europe. His latest projects 2012 are: “Sound Art. Sound as a Medium of Art, ZKM – Karlsruhe, “Germany, Listen to your city” Knippelsbro - Copenhagen Art Festival, Denmark, soloshows at Moontower Foundation, Bad König and “Bivoac”, New Art Forum, Cologne. He lives and works in Berlin, Germany.
