New art - new ideas. More than you can bear.

KUNSTHALLE wien views itself as a workshop, a lab, and a venue for contem-
porary aesthetic and social positions, a hot zone for cultural transfer. It also establishes a link between classic modernist art and futuristic visions that re-
invent art in its strategies, arenas, and materials.

KUNSTHALLE wien is Vienna's exhibition institution for international contem-
porary art. In two locations in the middle of the city, it serves as one of the
most vital facilities for contemporary art in Vienna.

Promoting an expanded concept of art, it pays special attention to cross-disciplinary, cross-border trends in the arts. Program focuses include photo-
graphy, video, film, installation art, and new media. Major, subject-specific exhibitions shed light on developments and correlations from classical
modernism to present-day art. Additional program highlights include retro-
spectives of important contemporary artists and major contributions to Austrian
art after 1945.
